Our St. Marien parish office is integrated into the central office of Lübeck's inner-city churches.

You can find us in the Marienwerkhaus, Marienkirchhof 2-3, 23552 Lübeck, on the 1st floor (accessible by lift).

Our opening hours:
Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Our treasure: People

Sharing life and journeying together! This is how we want to shape and develop the church with hope, together with many inspired people. Thanks to your ideas and inspiration, we are diverse and unique at the same time in Lübeck and in the midst of life – and we are making the church fit for the future.

The Parish Council

A special responsibility

The parish council is the governing body of the parish. It consists of elected and appointed members, as well as the pastor and assistant pastor by virtue of their office. The parish council is responsible in particular for organising worship, shaping parish life, and overseeing the staff and buildings.

Monthly meetings of the parish council provide a fixed framework for all jointly responsible decisions and resolutions. These are prepared in various working groups, e.g. for construction matters, personnel or budget issues. Reports from inter-parish committees are also regularly on the agenda.

The members of the parish council are:

  • Malte Classens
  • Bernhard Drews (Sexton)
  • Gottfried Hohmeier
  • Georg Meyer-Hoeven
  • Kirsten Müller-Klatz
  • Christian Rosehr (Chair)
  • Prof. Dr. Martin Scherer
  • Heike Schumacher
  • Sabine Weiß
  • Marienpastorin Inga Meißner
  • Marienpastor Robert Pfeifer (deputy chair)
  • Marienorganist Johannes Unger

By the way: You can rent our rooms!

The church and the Marienwerkhaus impress with their central location in the city centre and offer the perfect space for concerts, meetings, conferences and celebrations of all kinds. You are also welcome to enquire about the Marienkirche or parts of it such as the Briefkapelle (Letter Chapel). We look forward to welcoming you and your group! We are also happy to assist you with organising procedures, pointing out possibilities and external service providers (e.g. caterers, AV companies).

What do I love so much about St Marien?

At different times of the day and year, the light falling into the church will illuminate something you have walked past hundreds of times but never seen before.
